(This week’s ingredients have been shared with us directly by our volunteer chef, Gabriel Alvarenga. She has purchased all ingredients listed below from the Real Canadian Superstore. Please note however that some of our chefs might make slight adjustments to the ingredients and instructions based on their own cooking traditions)

Ackee and Salted Cod Fish


  • 1 Pkg. – Salted Cod Fish
  • 1 – Onion (medium size – chopped)
  • 1/2 – Green Bell Pepper (chopped)
  • 1/2 – Red Bell Pepper (chopped)
  • 2 Cloves – Garlic (chopped fine)
  • 1 – Fresh Tomato (cubed)
  • 1 tsp. – Black Pepper
  • 1 Can – Ackee Fruit (“Governors” brand recommended)
